XML DIALOGUE PROTOCOL 

GstarConcrete is an open world: we are available to help any Software house develop its compatibility with our SW environment. Hence, the final user, will be able to export, from the calculation program, to GstarConcrete, graphic elements that will turn into parametric objects, once open with it. As a consequence, thanks to public protocols that dialogue with illustrative guides, everyone may obtain from its calculation drawings, new paramtric proffesional and official drawings. This is an example of the full adaptability of GstarConcrete, being suitable for a wide range of customization projects. We are waiting for your project and customization request!

How it works?

Once completed the process for its full compatibility:

  • GstarConcrete can be exported to the calculation programs, generating 3D models.
  • GstarConcrete will read also the calculation models and automatically re-draws the decks.
  • GstarConcrete automatically re-draws the reinforcements of the calculation programs.

PILLARS is a new specific module, for pillars executive drawing starting from the decks structure.
This new module allows for the complete drawing of the pillars, and, it also enforces the checks as by European law requirement NTC D.M. 14 January 2008, and local circular C.S.LL.PP. 2009 n. 617.
Bars minimum diameter, distance between bars, spins insertion and the calculation of the critical area are suggested by this module. Furthermore, if you activate the check, in real time, the current reinforcement fits itself to the minimum provided by law requirement (NTC).
 
The PILLARS module substantially maintains the same input philosophy, enriching it with the reinforcement of the junctions (beams with pillars). Moreover the bars fit themselves according to any change in the pillar size: for instance, as showed in the following picture, by moving upwards, when the pillar gets thinner, the bar automatically bends, as well, aligning with it.
 
The procedure follows these steps:

1. Select and filter pillars

Starting from the drawing of the decks structure (it is necessary only the pillars presence) the pillars are selected. The Software is able to recognize and filter the pillars by same floor, dimensions, rotation, and, as a consequence, it can automatically organize the insertion of the reinforcement.

2. Insert stirrups

Once chosen the elements to reinforce, the user is asked to define: the cover-bar, the hook type and dimension (with a curved bar of 90° or 135°). Then, he should define the number of stirrups arms: 2 or 4, and their direction: x or y. According to NTC law requirement, the three stirrups fields are calculated and suggested (critical and central areas) with related distance and stirrups.

3. Longitudinal bars and crops

The diameters of the longitudinal bars are positionned in the angles (you can insert one or more) and along the sides: following X and Y direction.
With a “check” you define which bars will continue until the upper floor and which ones will terminate inside the slab, placed above the pillar itself.
Later, the user is asked to "define" the geometry and lenght of that part of the bar, that exceeds the level of floor.
In case of need for further reinforcement of junctions, some additional parts of bar can be inserted.

4. Bars for connection to foundation plate 

Also these bars are proposed based on law requirement, NTC. You can insert the bars for connection to the foundation plate (position 16 in the picture).


5. Summary Tables of pillars by decks

It is finally possible to obtain two different kinds of views, and consequently, of drawings of the pillars:
summary tables like that one below reported,
and, the front view of the pillar (with exploded view of each compounding elements).

GstarConcrete allows for the drawing of bars for reinforcement with linear, arc, poligonal, shapes. The bars are link to their proper "Dialogue Panel" containing all details, automatic numeration, and real and interactive preview.

GstarConcrete's bar is a smart, dynamic polyline, subject to complete control by means of the "Dialogue Panel" or adjustable directly through the drawing.
 
The SW gives you also the possibility to create a correlation between internal and external bars (drawing and exploded views); in fact GstarConcrete offersthe user the possibility to adjust the length of the shapes, by modifying the measure of their sides, written on the bars, or by stretching themselves.
The bars are grouped by belonging elements. Our SW has introduced the "options" of real visualization (thickness and bending). Finally, the user is able to search the position of each bar in the drawing. 
 
Sections bar
GstarConcrete affords to generate and manage the sections of bars, creating single or multiple sections, aligned to wall's structure, on arc, line or circumference.
It enables the generation of series by definining diameter, distance, or number.
It has introduced the possibility of connection between each bar in the drawing and its section.
It offers multiple layout personalization, such as the diameters visualization, real 1-1 or based on scale drawings, and many other visual options.
 
Bars view
The bars series are viewed in plants or front (ex. beam stirrups). The generation of series entails the definition of diameter, distance or number, and  allows for many other options and properties, mainly the connection to their position in the exploded view, single or multiple visualization.
 
Callouts
GstarCAd Concrete includes also the option of generation and management of callouts. The callouts are conncted to their positions, and can be drawn according to several different graphic options 
 
Bars Lists
The lists of bars can be automatically generated from the drawing, indicating weight, bending, and then, they are grouped according to common belonging elements. Summary tables, contain all bars grouped by equal diameter, and / or shape.
Finally the user may extract automatic calculations of total quantities, by group, type of bar, or element, and obtain all computes, exportable to Excel.
 
Import reinforcement from the calculation
As additional function, the SW, provides for the importation of the reinforcement schemes from the main calculation programs (directory on the www.gstarconcrete.com ), through Open_GC protocols.
All positions are automatically numbered, contantly with those already present in the drawing.

Special functions

 
The Program was designed to be able to acknowledge any type of geometry; it also enables decomposition and recomposition of group of bars in elementary sub-areas, automatic calculation and it can carry out the automatic calculation and application of the concrete cover. Thanks to the SW functionality, any bar automatically adapts itself to the wall's geometry.

Modification and management of the reinforcement

Other further options or commands are "Add or Delete". These ones are useful to delete or add any shape. It includes also the possibility to devide a shape into two other overlapping shapes.
In GstarConcrete it is even possible to modify the geometries of bars, by editing and changing the measure of one side, or by stretching and dragging the grip.
It permits also to apply "Editing filters", any bar's features can be modified (ex. applying only a specific diameter or a specific distance), and to Copy the elements. They can be copied in the same drawing or to other drawings. Then, they are automatically assigned their respective position number, in coherence with those already present. The correlations between reinforcements and callouts are mantained.
Further options are: Grouping shapes, a specific command that groups all identical shapes in a drawing,
and Renumber, that ensures the bars to be renumbered or to have an origin and a main direction.

Computation

All drawed elements (such as, for example, total amounts and quantities of bricks, pillars, bars, concrete, stirrups...) can get accuratly calculated, and then, exported to Excel, thus producing the required complete quantity surveying. 

Automatic sections

By tracing a "cutting line" on structural elements (such as floors, decks, beams or pillars), a section will be automatically generated with dimentions, and names of elements. Besides, by moving on the space the position of that line, both section and the whole drawing will be automatically modified and updated. Finally, also the required level of layout details can be selected and personalized.

Ellipse of stiffness (check of building stifness)

The application, can be useful to estabilish the exact positionning of vertical elements according to external orizontal forces (like wind or seismic effects); it traces the ellipse of stifnesses and calculates the parameters required from Eurocode 8, for the appraisal of the regularity of the building plant.

Text and Symbols with numerator

Functions for the lay-out completion, with necessary symbols, and measures, indicating line sections, automatic texts and numeration, altimetries, dimensionings, fast numeration of the elements.
